I agree Kim, I'll take the time to go fill out the paperwork to ship to our Canadian brothers. But in the same vein, I've seen some of the Canadians who won't ship to the lower 48. If you do not want to ship, put it in the ad so we will all know.

It's pretty easy now. The cost on you is the problem. Not a fan of people not willing to do this however it's their decision....

      Cheers,

Most all of us put "plus shipping". Once I've made a deal with someone, I go to the post off with the address & get the shipping cost. I email the buyer & let them know the total cost. If it's agreeable, I send it off once I've received the funds.

An extra 3 minutes to fill in the customs page online, print label and gone. Buyer's willing to pay the costs of the postage, what's the issue? Ship it insured for value, don't accept friends and family on Paypal if you don't know the buyer or seller well and Bob's your uncle.

I've shipped parts to every pie piece in the world, even a GOOD radiator successfully to Sweden. Note I didn't say corners, I'm not a flatlander! LOL

I sent him a PM to see if I can help him. Tis the season and maybe I can help.....

Personally I post nothing with anything less than expectation of a worldwide audience. Having shipped equipment all around the world it's not that hard lol....

        Cheers,

What extra do you have to do to ship to Canada? ? Other than the extra shipping cost?

I just looked it up and you can send usps flat rate boxes internationally and they create the customs forms for you. International flat rate starts at 26.

Where does the brokerage fee come in? Got F'd by FedEx (my shipper) big time once to Canada.

I know everytime I've ever got a quote to Canada its been extremely expensive. To the point the buyer backed out. I didn't know if I was doing something wrong or what? I didn't know that usps flat rates would ship international until just now.

Whenever I get a quote for a US(or worldwide) mopar brother/sister. I'll get part packed and go to post office for a quote.(they weigh and measure) I get the quote printed and I now have dimensions and weight in front of me. Buyer #1 backs out for whatever reason, now I can give buyer #2 an accurate quote as I got all pertinent info. Not hard. Now as far as a customs form?? I guess technically we have to fill one out, but in all reality it's a shipping label. With a "description", "value" and signature. Again not hard.
Now deals being squished due to shipping COSTS is another thing....

Postal only! Do NOT use UPS to ship to Canada, they use a Crown and Anchor wheel and spin it to see what Brokerage charges they can muster up. Fedex is usually a flat $7 fee. Using the post office if the value is under $200 it generally goes straight to the buyer. If you mark stuff higher than $200 then they pay provincial and federal taxes on the value + $6.95 handling charge when they pick it up. Again the buyers problem.. not the sellers... and all us Kanucks know we get F'd up here and are use to the dry hump!

I don’t give a damn where you live I’ll ship it to you! I sent a 489 3.23 Sg third to Norway several years ago. Part was $450.00, shipping was$465.00. Guy paid it. But ship to Canada and if it’s bigger than will fit in a USPS flat rate box which is $34.95, shipping is outrageous. And in the end I have wasted my time. I even let the buyer research a cheaper way if they want to. So far no one has.

I shipped a Hyfire V to Canada, charged $30 and $23 FedEx to ship it on my account. I get a charge on my account 2 weeks later for another $35 for a brokerage fee. I asked the buyer what happened, said he got the part. I told him FedEx charged me $35 for another unknown fee, he told me tough luck, not his problem. Well, I'm $5 in the hole now....it will never be my problem again. Just my experience. Maybe USPS is better.

I’ve always had to pay the brokerage fee when I get a part shipped up here. At least 10-15 times a year. Kim

I have no problem shipping stuff to Canada. I have parted out a few cars over the years, and have sent many packages to Canada. My oldest daughter lives just north of Toronto in a town called Newmarket. I have NO problem with Canadians at all. What I do have a problem with is quoting a shipping cost to someone in Canada (actual cost) and then they ask me to SLASH my price to help out with the shipping. I totally understand the frustration over shipping costs. We stopped sending gifts to Newmarket because of the cost.

When I get paid by pay pal I get charged a transaction fee plus a currency conversion fee. Then when I buy from the states I get charged a currency conversion fee to change it back. Dam pay pal. Kim

If you live anywhere close to the US/Canada border, you can ship to a Us border town, and either go get, or have a freiight forwarder bring it up and you clear it yourself... saves a bunch

My sister was picking my stuff across the border. They would ask how many, what they were and the value. Sometimes they would charge her and sometimes not. Kim

About international shipping, a special thanks to Mtrhead, Valiantpatrol, j061093409 and QuickBpBp, FABO US members who made the effort to get a quote for an international shipping.
Thanks to them, my '71 Demon got back some missing NOS and hard-to-find parts.

A tip to help the buyer : if possible, opt for USPS and not a carrier like UPS, DHL or Fedex. Shippings delivered by a postal service often get the benefit of an exemption for custom duties...

                                    Take care buddies...

You have to know how to ship out of the US to be a successful seller. I have in my meager bear trap mind, the size and weight restrictions of more than a few countries, and one rule of thumb is always use the post office when shipping to Canada. Flat rate boxes are also preferred. I remember once a guy in Australia wanted the headliner trim i had listed for a B body. The length limit on Aussie packages is 46”, these were over that. I told him the package was too long and it wouldn’t ship. He told me to cut the overhead pieces in 1/2 and ship them that way and he would weld them back together. Done deal. I ship all over the world, just had a package of headliner trim for a 64 Barracuda go to the Netherlands, he was happy to get it, despite the charges being double what the part cost. Another friend made, and another car being brought back to life!
