I found thread on how the block huggers did not work on A bodies but has anyone tried any other type like the dakotas or something? it looks like if someone had them dump at the back it would work better...

If you need shorty headers, the answer is very easy. Put in a big block and use the Schumachers. Actually, they are very easy to install and live with.

The potential problem is the fire wall.

yeah, thats kind of what I was thinking. but it looks like that would be the place to dump them because then you could get a pipe up threw there and not be into the steering or P/S box.

I am pretty sure the passenger side would work because it is wide open, but I was just wondering if the drivers side would work or not...the mag. headers will physicaly bolt to the LA style head right?

yep! They will.
