My dad's 66 Valiant came with the square mirror seen in the picture below. The mirror is broken and will not stay up. When I went online to look to buy a replacement, the only options I saw available were round mirrors. Anyone have any advice on where I can find a replacement mirror like the one in the picture? Does the round mirrors that all of the vendors sell essentially mount the same as this one if we replace it? Appreciate some insight. Thanks. IMG_6219 (2).JPG

That is not a original Mopar mirror and the Mopar mirrors will be round. Only 2 were available. The twin post is non adjustable from inside the car. Like these:

I thought that might be the case, but wasn't sure. Thanks for clarifying. Now I definitely know what to buy.

I agree with TMM. No 66 Valiant ever came with square mirrors - that is a replacement. You can find reasonably priced round replacements on ebay for about $50 apiece.

Except that your photo of the remote mirror is one for a '67-up model. The '66 and older have a different control and head/base mounting method.

That might well be but it shows the op what the mirror should look like. They made companion mirrors for the right side as well. Same style mirror but non remote unless you have a right hand drive model of car. I think C bodies had those available for the right doors with a long cable so the driver could adjust them from the center of the dash.

Thanks for the input. Now just have to confirm whether it was a remote mirror before I order more parts. Time to open up the wallet.

If the door is the original one, there will be a hole for the control. The fender tag will have a code for it too... I think it is a 6 under the p.

The fender tag does not have code under the "P" so I assume that means the mirror is not remote. I will be down there this afternoon, so I can confirm. Thanks.
