Are you splicing the new mufflers in or is it a totalaly new system.
I myelf, when doing a new exhaust, lay the muffler where I want it to stay, hang on end in the hanger, prop up the otherend and measure the distance to the header. OR take the existing OE pipe and raise it to meet the new muffler, mark it long and cut. then slide the pipe into the muffler.
When I say I mark it long, the mark line to cut is as close as possible to the main body of the muffler and then put back up for a trim mark if need be. Then the muffler can be slid over the old pipe.
It is difficult to use a mating pipe connector. This short pipe has the inside diameter of each , the muffler and exhaust pipe. The pipe must be cut within 2 or so inchs of proper length and ethier clamped on or welded.
