I have been asked to come up with a streetable combination for the slant 6 engine and run on pump gas, so this is what I've come up with.
engine:225
compression:8.14
valves: int.1.70-exh.1.44
intake:production 2bbl 250cfms
exhaust:hedders 1 1/2 44" long with 2.25 turbo mufflers full exhaust
Camshaft: mopar p4120243 .436 lift 244 adv. duration valve lash int. .010/exh. .020
Octane:93

peak HP: 120 @ 4000rpms
Ave. HP: 79.5
Peak torque: 192 @ 2500 rpms
Ave. torque: 139 ft. lbs.

These little engines are going to have the hardest time makeing power as the factory rated them @ 100-105 stock so the gains won't be much as by the looks of things but they are substantial to a small engine.
There are other things that can be done and make more power but they won't run efficently on pump gas.

I'm doing a lot better than 120 hp with my slant.
0.100" off the head, 30 over, wolverine blueracer com(unknown specs to me), clifford shorty headers Yed to a single 2.5" pipe to a turbo muffler then 2 1/4" pipe out to the back, clifford 4bbl intake, 465cfm holley.
I last ran the 1/4 in 16.35@83 but that was before the 4bbl and shift improver kit.

I'll tell you what, I've got more than that from my slant running on 87 octane.

I did .100 off the head (9:1 after you factor in the new head gasket), 2x1bbl offy, dutra duals 2.25 to collector 2" out the back, mild cam compcams 252. Also converted to electronic ignition with GM HEI unit. Untuned ran 17.65 on multiple passes with 3.23 gears. Go to slantsix.org and get some recommendations, you can easily squeeze more from that without running 93 octane. The MP Cam you're using is a nice low-end torquey cam, with *very* mild street manners. Just has a little more lift and duration than the stock cam from the 70s. What does the customer want?

This was just for info guys, I have made as much as 210HP with a slant 6 and run in the 11s without nos, and have run in the 13s in street trim with a 4bbl.
70 valiant, if your car weighs in at 2800lbs then your only makeing 129HP and at 3000 your makeing 138hp.
As for newlancerman, if his car weighs in at 2900lbs. then hes only makeing 81hp to run 17.65, and at 3100lbs. hes makeing 87 hp.
It seems like your makeing alot more but when you figure in everything it takes alot to go fast.
Those #s are corrected brake hp and torque not a total from the engine, I use these as they are more realistic. Even though the others may be more satisifing.

My car and I weigh in at 3100 pounds, and like i said that was with a carter BBD 2bbl carb and a badly slipping trans. :thumblef:
