I know Wilcap can make adapters to mate a /6 with a 200r4. I was just wondering if anybody here has done this exact set up and if so what did the swap cost, what rearend gears are best for this set up, what's the rpms at 75mph, and what is the best mpg you've ever got? I hope to hear a lot of input!

I would imagine it would be the same as the v8 swaps, but needing steeper gears(like 4:10s) to get the highway revs in a happy range

hi, iam trying to do the math here. most o/d trannys have a .70 o/d ratio. so with 4:10 rear gears, that would give you a final drive of 287:1 i thought /6 cars had a 276:1 rear gear. so if this is right, you would be getting less mpg. the only advantage would be better takeoff in first and second because of the 4:10. i would put the low ratio gear set in the tranny and call it a day. feed back please.

I didn't know they came so low, so maybe 3.90s?

As for the advantage, better performance without the highway sacrifice.

you would think that a six cylinder car would have a steeper gear, but then they wouldn't be able to cruise the highway. thats why they went to a low ratio gear set too give them a boost off the line. i'am playing with a 69 valiant that was a /6. it has 2.76 in a 71/4 diff. going to try a 904 with the low gear set and lock up convertor. don't know how it will work, but its a start and it was cheap to build.
