Small block combo suggestions

well, the 116mph tells us that 360 is cooking right on 400hp. But it shouldn't take a 306* cam to make 400,should it? That's an aweful lot of cam. I think a 230* hydro will get that. Hmmmmm
Inputting my cam specs of 276/286/110,in at 107, I get a Dcr of 9.03/187psi. Now that's getting somewhere.
If I input a 276/286/108, in at 105, but with a Scr of 11.6, then I get a Dcr of 9.3/195psi ! So this is an ICA of 63*
But......it's a reeeeely long way from a 276hydro, to a 306 solid
Hughes engines claims 437 hp with a 230* cam,and stage II 596 heads IIRC.
Well that's math for ya!

hughes engine on dyno - no air filter, no fan, no alternator, no mufflers - about 40 hp. and the formulas for 1/4 mile speed to power were developed back when the track measured speed from 66 feet before the finish line to 66 feet after. now they measure from 66 feet before the finish line to the finish line.
