I replaced a clogged fuel filter with a small metal fuel filter (about 2 12" diameter) (small- Luber Finer g454 or large - ff3404 see pics) and the engine runs well. Anyway I was wondering if I will have a venting issue and the gas will leak from the carb. Should I replace it with a OEM larger metal fuel filter which has a much greater fuel capacity when fuel is vented back down the line? This for a street cruiser with a slightly modded 273, big cam & 600 Holley double pumper .

Thanks, but does the size of the fuel filter matter? Should I switch to the much larger and OEM fuel filter for proper filtration or is the smaller just as good. A test run with the smaller revealed no issues and I even think the carb responded better the when I had the clear plastic Purolator fuel filter on. I'm switching to a metal filter because I recently read some peopl had some bad experiences with the plastic filters and that most tracks don't allow them. That alone tells me that they are prone to breakage. Any input fellas?
