here's a bone stock 360 with some add ons: 335-340 hp, with a comp XE262. measuring my stock long block, with the aftermarket head gaskets (thicker than stock) I'm probably at about 7.8:1 compression, and I'd guess that's about what this magazine motor is:

1 point of compression will be about 5% more power, with no other changes. so that motor on that dyno would be about 350 hp instead of 335 with 1 point more compression.
with those pistons and a 70cc head, with a 9.6" deck height, and .028" gasket, you're looking at about 8.7:1 compression. not bad. I'd maybe consider dropping down to a comp XE268 or lunati voodoo 60403 (the [email protected] cam) for better low end, but it depends on what kind of car you're putting it in.
depending on head work I'd guess 350-390 gross flywheel hp.
so like you guys said if i went with a smaller cam i wouldent need so much compression to make power
