81' 440 and 727 auto with approx 38,000 mi out of my de-commissioned motorhome. ran fine when it was pulled last month. Edelbrock Performer carb, OEM carb, PS pump and ALT included. $250 each or $400 for both, cash only please. LOCAL PICKUP ONLY. los angeles area. PM me for more info or phone #

How long did they put 440's in motorhomes? I know the last year they put them in trucks/vans was 78.

no idea. everything i've ever seen says 78' or 79', but i believe that was last year of passenger car / pick up truck prodution and everything after that was NOS that was left over.
just went out and looked, block casting # is 3830930-440-6 so late production cast crank? i'll try to clean off the stamping boss on the front and get the head casting #'s tommorow and see what they say
 
440's were put in motor homes untill mid 80's snd in marine use late 80's. Wish I was within driving distance. That is a screamin deal:sad11:

come out for Spring Fling, i'm 2 miles from the park. looks like i might still have it :)
 
I think the trans was called "load flight". Very strong tranny!
