So I was working on my dart the other day and I thought " I need to share my story with others." 4 years ago I broke my back in a Motorsport accident and it has left me paralyzed from waist down. When I was in the hospital I thought that I would never be able to do anything that I loved to do before the accident. After contiplating taking my own life several times after getting out of the hospital I turned to my trusty ol dart to help me get through these rough times. Between getting back into the swing of things at my trailer business and figuring out how to work on things again I started restoring the dart slowly. In February of this year I had a falling out with my asshole partner and resigned as half owner. With a supportive wife and family I began hammering on the dart hard and trying to find a new job in the process, but people seem to think I can't do anything because I'm in a chair and that really pisses me off. So I thought what if I had some sponsorship help from some leading parts suppliers and some spinal injury organizations, I could travel the country and show young people that are just starting this rough journey that they can do amazing things if they believe in themselves and work hard towards a realistic goal. I figure with the time I have between occupations or even make this my life goal to boost people's spirits, especially paralyzed soldiers around the U.S. I've built this car by myself and an proud of what I have accomplished in the past 1 1/2 years. Anybody know someone that can help me get this dream of mine started? I'm not asking for personal help, I'm asking for corporate help and huge advertising possibilities for those willing to donate parts to speed up this build and get me out there ASAP. Thanks to all you fabo members

Start here, and see what they could suggest. I can't think of a better way to get started and make a difference in someones life.

Kudos to you.

You fought the good fight and won. You could / will make a difference in others lives.

There are also other organizations that do exactly what your describing in regards to building cars with and for wounded vets as therapy for them.

I just can't remember what they are at the moment. Search a little and you will probably find some in your area.

gtmopar! I think its a great idea...(FYI) I got the air cleaner Mahalo! Looks great, ordered a new sticker too...don't know if I will though I like the worn 273 on it.

NOW back to sponsorship. (BTW mahalo for pulling through your depression, can't imagine the turmoil you went through, but I have an idea.)

Sponsorship will be difficult. Its not your idea that you have to sell. It's YOURSELF. If you can sell that...you can get a sponsor to provide you all the funds you need. The sponsor of course want to see a profit/return of some sort on their investment. So if you can sell yourself and the idea has the potential to make them profit. You'll get sponsors!

Good luck BRO!!!!!

and again mahalo for being patience with me paying you for the AC!!!!

Just thinking out loud here...could you make an 'audition' video of yourself?

Thanks guys for the advice. Yea I'm thinking an audition video is what I'll do. Hey I'm glad you like the air cleaner! It looks very nostalgic with the faded sticker, that bad boy tells a story in itself. I'll definitely sell myself and find a willing sponsership. Thanks guys

I think you should partner up with the dude on here that's doing his A-body up, nevermind the fact that he has no arms.

And no, I'm not kidding.

Just tossing a different idea out here, but if I can help doll up your chair in any way to promote your efforts please let me know. Custom one-offs are a specialty of mine and it would be an honor.

Great ideas guys and thanks cudachick as long as its not dolled up too much! Ha! I got billet rims on my chair! And who's the guy with no arms? This shows how i get around the car. A portable Snap On lift has made my life go a hell of a lot easier.

The member with no arms is Hooks2u. He mentioned a few weeks ago that his mother is ill so he's not working on his car as much right now.

Thanks goldfish I'll look him up and introduce myself. Seems like all the mopar guys are east coast and mid west. All the folks I have met out here are not as friendly and very cliquey. If you are not one of the original members of their clubs they could give two chits about you. I only know of 1 mopar meet up in nor cal and last time it kinda sucked! A bodies kinda get cast aside.
