solid lifter oil groove?

I had a set of comp 821-16 solid lifters laying in the shop that I was going to use. These lifters do not have a oil groove cut in them. Will these work? Or will it block off the oil in the gallery ? These look very heavy and I might just get some with the direct lube, but just curious thanks.
 
I don't know why they would need one. You are talking about LA and not Magnum?

The grooves don't carry oil down the galleries, "the gallery does" LOL
 
Use them, they are fine. I remember hearing the "dumbbell" lifters would break on high RPM race motors.
 
That was a total brain fart. Thats what happens when your going over everything in your head at 4am instead of being asleep!
