oh haha thx

just got the 6 pulled and on my new engine stand so i'll get it broke down tomarrow and see where my compression is going! if i find bad rings i'll have it re honed and deck the block for the 9.8:1 comp:snakeman:

i have the ones from mancini. will yours be different? what do you mean by kit? I have also drilled a 1/2 inch hole thru the center and bolted the steel halves together when my Duster kept ripping the driver mount.Lets see what youre fabbing.

u kinda lost me on bolting the two halve together...

as for mine i was gonna get some 1/4" plate to fab up using a brand new rubber one as a guide. so it will be a bolt in piece to stock mounts on the block. if somebody want me to go further i can also make the pieces that bolt to the block, which i am thinking about because mine bend just reving it:snakeman:

as for the design it will be simple but very strong. as for the thru bolts( that mount to k and block mount) i want to make them removable so they can be replaced it they get stripped or something, unless u think i can just weld the grade 8 hardware right in and not worry about the maintenance issue.

also what kinda price would somebody pay for these? there would be sand plated after and epoxy painted so no rusting

would u guys mind if they were stainless mounts=P~

and also would stock size stainless (1/2")hardware be strong enough for let say 400hp, overkill but thats the point.

Why do you say 400 HP is "overkill"???
If our turbo'd 234 c.i.d. slant six only makes 400 HP, we've thrown a lot of money away.... :(

I love the idea of stainless; keep improving the concept!!!

ok fine! over achiever!! haha so let me refrase this. will stainless harware, i.e. factory size "studs" out of the mount be able to hold that beast above??

or just run grade 8 bolts?

You might even contact ARP to see what they would recommend. Just an Idea.
Frank

we not a bad idea. thinking a stainless block with welded thru bolt, counter sunk so they will be bellow flush for good mounting.

It would take someone a whole lot smarter than I am (not hard to find, at all) to answer that question, but grade 8 bolts in that size would be a good start!

"overachiever???" I haven't achieved ANYTHING, yet... I just like to hope... and run my mouth...

Our engine probably won't be operational until early next spring. If then...

That's when we'll all see if it has any grunt, or is just another old men's pipe dream. Pray for us.... we'll need it!:clock:

haha with the look of that exhaust manifold i'd say ur on the right track!!! the mock up mounts will be sent to the machinist next week, and my step dad is gonna talk to him and hammer out the details, volume and price. so its moving along
