I have a 8 3/4 rear end out of an A100.I needs to be narrowed and I found a place to do it.I was going to get new axles from moser with the green bearing. What drum brakes can I run on it and when I get the money what disc brakes can I run on it.Also its a 3.55 gear non-suregrip can I make it a sure grip with a locker.

Is your car SBP or BBP?

Check with Moser. I understand that they make their axles lengths for the SBP 10x1.75" stock brakes. I'f you're going BBP, you'll need to have your stock SBP drums redrilled for that.

Personally, I'd try to get axles for the 10x2.5" brakes that pretty much all BBP mopars came with. Easier to find parts for them, cheaper to buy shoes and drums, and you don't need to have your drums re-drilled every time you replace them (assuming your axles will be BBP)

You'll want to tell Moser about the sure grip also, as that makes a difference in the axle length.

I would go with Dr. Diff, he sells axles that are the correct length for both the 10x2.5" drums and a sure grip. Plus he's just awesome to deal with, and really is a great member of the mopar community. I bought the BBP axles for my EL5 GT from him, awesome pieces. He even left off the green bearings and sent a set of the stock style adjustable bearings (I really don't like green bearings) so I could press them on with my stock adjusters.

First off what is the length of the housing, flange to flange? Just curious. If it's not longer than an early B rear I would just move the perches in and bolt it in. I have a B rear in my Dart Sport same body style as your Duster and it works just fine. Could be a huge savings for you.

Unless you have a bunch of money to spend that is. After putting a suregrip with 3.55's, new brakes, hardware and lines, I have around 600 bucks in mine.

The reason I ask is a guy had a rear out of a dart sport but he does not know what its out off think its a 8 1/4 sbp but will bolt right up and will hold up to my 360 fine but I did not know were you could get 8 1/4 drum brake parts.I was going to see which would be a better option.looking like the 8 1/4 is best.

Looking like the 8 1/4 is best.

For now you may be right, if you go to NAPA and they have some decent parts guys there they should be able to get the parts. Especially if you know what the rear came out of.

I got all of the parts for my diff at NAPA and I didn't even know what it came out of, we just kept searching until we found what I needed.
