Does anyone have a picture or drawing of how the trunk weatherstripping lays down on a '64 Dart? When we got mine, it had no trunk weatherstripping! It was gone. Hope to lay the new stuff in 'correctly'. Thanks alot for any help and/or a pic of which way the rib faces!

Dartman is correct. The rib faces the outside to channel water. Make sure you start in the center bottom of trunk & end there. Want the splice down low to prevent leaks.

There is some junk weatherstripping being sold on eBay and other places. This weatherstriping is almost flat and does not seal. It was on my Dart when I bought it, but in poor shape so I replaced it with weatherstripping that looked the same. It still leaked everytime I washed the car or got caught in the rain. I bought the correct weatherstripping from Steele Rubber Products and it solved my water in the trunk problem. Instructions come in the box describing the correct installation, long lip to the outside, away from the trunk.

Then I bought the junk!!! I'm bummed. Based on your experience, I won't even bother to install it only to make a mess. I'll order the correct one from Steele.

Not a silly question. I now know how to install mine! do remember, start and end at the trunk latch (bottom) to avoid leaks.
