Source for engine coolant temp sender terminal

I am inspecting the engine wiring harness on my 71 Dart project (318 to 340 swap) and I found that the insulation for the temp sender wire is split in the visible portion of the harness. Does anyone know of a source for a replacement pigtail that has the factory original, purple wire in the pigtail? I have found some with black wire, but since this part of the harness is visible, I would like to maintain the factory appearance if I can. I thought about covering the split with heat shrink, but I think that would look kind of cheesy. Thanks for any help you can provide! Thanks in advance!

Start a Parts Wanted thread in thee Marketplace forums. You will probably need to find a used harness to get the connector and wire you need.

There will be replacements like posted above but you probably won't find a purple wire one. Is the connector above correct? Can you post a pic of your connector?

The pictured connector is the correct style. This is a pic of what is in my harness. The insulation break is only about 1-2" from the taped portion of the harness.
