Spark Plug Gap

My '67 cuda (with a 273 V8 Commando engine) has an MP electronic ignition kit with an orange control box. I'm thinking...should I gap the plugs to the factory's spec of .035 or should I widen the gap to perhaps .040? :scratch:

Wouldn't electronic ignition put out higher voltage hence the need for a wider gap?

I would bump it up to .040. It should give you a better spark.
