Spark plug question

Is it normal for spark plug threads to be wet when you pull them out? I can't tell if its oil or just fuel residue but every plug I pulled (440) was a little wet on the theaded part.

There are no stupid questions right?

as long as they were tight.

was it all threads?

A lil oil on the threads is all right, hows the valve cover gasket?

Ya there were all tight and pretty much all threads were wet.

Valve cover gaskets need replacement but I have stamped aluminum covers that don't seat very tight so I'm thinking about getting cast or fabbed units.

Any suggestions for gaskets?

just good ol cork for stamped. Thick composite or what ever they call it for aluminum covers.
