Has anyone gotten quicker et times just going to a spool over a sure grip?Mark

Spools are more about strength and reliability (and safety). They are lighter, and you could see a gain. You would only be able to detect any gain if you have a purpose-built race car, with an accurate, detailed run log book.
I wouldn't use one on a street car, it'll plow through corners, especially when wet.

My Dart seemed to be quite a bit more consistant when I changed to a spool.

Madmax /6 I am looking for a spool now and will make this change soon I will let you know how much if any differencewe experience. My guess is the gain in waight loss will be counter acted by dragging the other tire around. Sure hope this stops my little tire spin @ the stating line! Don

When I switched to a spool my ET was consistently lowered by 1-2 tenths.
