ok..i went to the Tech Archive but i coudln't get the pictures to come up..so i'm needing some pictures of the springs reloacted rear inward on the frame...this is for a 74 Duster if it matters...also..how much longer are the B body rear leaves?? i'm wantting to stiffen up my rear with out buying new spings...and i have a bbody sittin out side that i could get the leaves otu of and throw under if they will work....i need pics for the front and rear part of the rear leaves and what ever else might be helpful....how hard is it to cut the spring perches off and reweld them or should i buy new ones?? thanks..

Oh..and how did you know if you got your spring perches welded on correctly as in..angle and width?? thanks

heres the pictures. http://www.forabodiesonly.com/gallery/Cuda?page=3
The B body springs are 2" longer and wont work.

I didnt cut the old perches off. Th ekit comes with new ones. I just welded them on and left the old in place. They arent in the way of anything and it made it easier to get the new ones in the right place.

Anymore question just ask.

do you have a website where you got the reloaction kit??? do you know if i'd have any problems making my own brackets and moving the springs to the inside of the frame rail instead of on the frame rail???

I got the kit from www.manciniracing.com

The springs are 2 wide to fit inside the frame rail and the metal is actually thinner then the metal used to make the boxes. Plus the kit comes with spring perches, rear shackles and bushings and the tube needed to fit threw the frame rail for the rear shackles.

Its much easier to buy the kit.

The rear shackles had the bushings in them right?? and Were they poly or Rubber bushings??

One problem I ran into when I did mine, was the centering hole in the spring perches. The perches that came with the kit had centering holes that were way to big.I ordered a set of Competition Engineering perches and they had the right size holes.I also left the old perches in place. They don't get inthe way and they help to line up the new ones.

How hard was the job?? or was it just more time consuming than hard...was the holes for the front springs predrilled or did you drill them?? Assuming you drilled them..how did you mark where the exact hole should be?? i skimmed the artical...don't really have time for indepth reading thanks..Oh..and this is a 17 yearold doing work but i know quite abit think i could takle this or should i have my dad help me?? or just let him do and i watch from the sidelines lol..thanks DF

Its more of a time consuming thing over all,an just make sure u take lots of before an after measurments on what u did an how it all was,if yur not able to do it then ya hav yur pops help ya out, before my dad 4 linked his duster we moved his springs in i did alot of the work at the prime age of 8,it was fun i even welded some of it up,just hav him watch u do it,its a good learning experience

Its not very hard. Take your time amd measure twice.

The holes dont come predrilled. I markes were the boxes go and cut it out. then I clamped the box in place and put the old spring hanger in place. I use that to figure out were the first hole goes. Then one on top and one below an inch apart. I had a freind drill the holes on his Bridgeport.

Make sure you support the vehicle in front of where you are cutting and under the rear most part of the frame. I would hate to see the car fold up without the rear of the car being supported.

THanks...I figured i could do it...i just didn't knwo if it was like setting up a rearend ...and need someone with experience and help with the first one...How hard was it to put in the fourlink subframe?? i'm getting a demon and wanting to run a 4link..and how does a 4 link work on the streeet??
