Hey Guys, I have a problem with my start 1 1970 dart swinger 410 cu it worked great and then went to start and it turned over and then nothing. I changed mini starter and starter solenoid it clicks at starter and no spin maybe the battery I don’t know lost! Thanks!

Make sure you have a good ground cable to the engine block.

Probably a failing battery.

Test the battery with a multimeter, should be 12.3 volts, and 14.3 volts charging as it is running.

Have had batteries at 11.5 volts doing the clicking thing, pop in another 12.3 volt battery and it starts right up.

Jiggle the shifter in neutral when trying to start.

Maybe neutral safety switch not energizing the start relay on the inner fender?

Also as a test, you can try jumping the post with a screw driver on the start relay to get it to turn over.

Bypassing the in the car start circuit.

Probably trace back with multi meter at the start relay to see voltage there. Then on down to starter main lead and check voltage there.

Simple quick test, put a jumper battery on along (jumper cables) with the battery in the car.

That will give it more cranking amps to get it turning if there is a weak connection somewhere.

Feel all the connections after trying this. If one of the connections is warm or hot, that is the bad connection that needs to be cleaned up.

I've had batteries read full voltage, but would produce minimal amperage. The lights would come on, and the accessories would work but not enough oomf to work the starter. Just spit-balling.
