Hi y'all,

I have a starter cable routing question. I have a 67 barracuda i have removed the slant 6 from it about 6 years ago during my slow moving resto project. I have gotten to the point that I am currently mocking up the wiring for a V8.

The question i have is, how is the starter battery hot cable routed in the body on a V8 , 4 speed car. Can you post some good pictures to this thread. I will be fabbing up and routing a new cable, kinda need to know how the factory ran this cable. To clear the exhaust manifold , and steering shaft.

Thanks
Matt

Wait till morning and remind me to snap a picture of my 68 340 Cuda wire for you. Too dark right now... :glasses7:

It hooks on clip by the steering column and runs thru the z-bar linkage.

This is on my 73, yours should be the same.
It was kinda hard to get a picture.

In pic 2 of what Krazy posted, the cable is not in the bracket on the firewall.
You can see the bracket is open, the cable goes in it and the brackets fold over the wire.

Wow your car is super clean sireland67. I got an idea of how its supposed to route. I will take a few pix when i mock mine up, and post them here to see if this is the way in need to route them. I have a clutch pivot bar as well. Eventually mine will go together with nice paint.

Thanks for the complement, its alot of work, I only fool around with it in the winter.
So maybe in 3-4 years I will have the outside looking as good.

And if that is your car in your aviator, yours will be way nicer than mine when done.

Yes thats my 67 notchback in my avatar. Thank you for the vote of confidence. My wife says i am OCD. I believe that as well.

I bought the car in 2008. Didnt start on it until 2011. Been slowly picking at it ever since. A full time job, wife, 4 kids, and other responsibilities allows me very little time. I'd like to start a resto thread, but again have very little time.

Will post my proposed routing soon.
Matt
