Steering wheel horn ring removal and swap

I recently acquired a steering column from what I was told is out of a 65 Barracuda? View attachment 1714686137

I am hoping that the steering wheel from my 66 Dart View attachment DSCN2188.jpg
will have the same horn ring so I can use that and then just find a center cap for the cuda wheel.
I am having trouble removing the horn ring from the 66 wheel. I thought you had to push the center down and turn the ring counterclockwise but its not releasing doing that. What is the correct way to get the ring off?

M y Barracuda steering wheel pic didnt work so I'll try it again. Is this out of a 65 cuda and will the horn button from the 66 Dart work on this wheel?
