Hey guys , just wondering if anybody knows of a company that makes quick disconnect that will work on a Mopar steering column spline ? I really don't wanna cut the spline off and weld a new one on . Just wondering if there is company's out there or you could use like a chevy/ ford or whatever quick disconnect ??

Thanks

I wanna be able to pull my steering off with a push of a button lol . I got a roll cage in my car so would be nice to be able to pul off the steering wheel .

I use a Grant wheel and their adapter, for quick removal. It is a bolt on.

Ok I'll look into that . I got a grant steering wheel also. I don know if I'm explaining this right . On the adapter there is either a button or a slide . Once you pull it back or press the button the steering wheel comes off . Im trying to see if any of those will work on the Mopar spline on the stering column. I've seen them on Chevys and imports . Jut seeing if there are ones that work on mopar splines .

Hey , yea I've emailed jegs , same thing as summit asking them and they said that at the moment there was no quick disconnects that worked with Mopar splines . So I figured I would ask here see if any member figured something that would work , or knew some company's that made them that I could not find .

I looked through the post but could not find anything , I guess I didn't look good enough . And I was kinda like, am I the first one that wanted to do this lol . But thanks for that thread link .

Hey sgbarracuda . So I read that thread . What did you end up doing on your car ?

No it is suppose to fit the oem splines except where 70aarcuda said he had to grind to get the hub to slide on far enough. Then you tighten the nut down just like you would on the stock steering wheel. If pinned it also, that would just be extra insurance.

Ok now I get it , I guess gonna go with tht one . Hope it don't bite me in the *** haha . But thanks for the info and help . I think this might be the 100 time you gave me answer that I was looking for haha .

i have installed two of those.....before you doing any grinding...measure the inside of the collar that slides onto the steering shaft...and measure the shaft just below the splines...the last one I did slid right on...no grinding...

dont know if the collar changed or if the steering shaft slimmed down...

I knew sooner or later you would join in. I dropped your name earlier. Hope that was OK?

Hey tony those jegs ones ? Are they weld on or are they the same as sgbarracuda ones the grant kit 3001

probably why my head hurts.....

the collar slides on the steering shaft.....the hub is set up for a 5 hole steering wheel...

I had a 3 bolt hole grant wheel...just redrilled the steering wheel using the hub as a template....

the treads are like #10 something small like...bought some new bolts...bingo

Ok sweet again thanks guys , now I kinda know what to do , which is much more than I knew before . Thank you

Peter

Here is the 1st one I did...finally found the pictures..

Yea the drilling the holes is not a problem , and if would not work I would just get a steering wheel that worked. It just seemed like there was no way I could use a quick disconect on my stock steering column spline . But you guys have me options of the grant kit or the jegs kit .

Damn all this headache makes me think I should just have a new column made or adapt a tilt gm column in my car. What a pita by all the descriptions. Yet you guys say its a five minute deal. Im scratching my head.

did you try the circle track company , I got one years ago (15) for my a body
