Sticky Clutch Pedal

Ok so my clutch pedal was sticking when coming up so I changed the bushing in the z-bar now it is smoother coming up but pretty sticky when pressing down. What would cause this?
 
Do you mean it was not coming always back to the top? If so you need to adjust the clutch..too much free play and the over center spring it not taking over.
 
Could be dry on a pivot point of the linkage, or dry on the collar that the TO bearing slides on.
 
All bushings should have been lubed w/lithium grease. Need to ask, what type of clutch?

Do you mean it was not coming always back to the top? If so you need to adjust the clutch..too much free play and the over center spring it not taking over.

It comes all the way back up

When pressing the clutch its like there is a catch making it sticky
 
Have someone work the pedal while you listen around the z-bar area.

How are the motor mounts? New, used, worn?
 
Has this been getting worse over time?
My guess would be that if there is no binding in the linkage, that it's either the pressure plate has some broken springs in it or the release bearing is seized and wearing through the collar that it is pressed on to.
I would disconnect the adjustment link that goes through the fork and move the pedal back and forth to check for binding or loose points in the linkage, and if not, it's internal. Remember, the over center spring is strong! (it might be a good idea to remove it to be sure) Maybe watch the linkage movement with everything hooked up and the engine stopped to see visually if there is any deflection in the linkage or unnatural movement or noises. Start the car up and see if anything changes doing the same test.
I'm taking for granted of course that your engine and trans mounts, bushings, ball studs, bell crank, etc. are all correct and in good shape. If you have a really stiff pressure plate, there is a chance that your firewall might be cracking too, but it isn't all that common.
And yes, (believe it or not) i have run across all of this before!

I asked if its a diaphragm clutch. If so, no need for the over spring.

You can hear the thowout bearing when you press the clutch.
 
This morning I went to school and the clutch worked great very smooth. When I left school me some friends went to a pizza place and the clutch still working great. When we left the pizza place it went back to being sticky.
