Does anyone know what the specs on a stock 440 cam are? I know there were various options, but I am looking for a ball park figure. on the Lift and duration.

Most big block 4 bbl. cars had a 256* duration cam, the HP versions 276* and the 440-6 had a low taper 276,*lift varied from .425 to .458. In the old days we use to refer to a hp cam as a 3/4 cam, meaning duration over 270*, this is the beginning of the radical idle, so if you want something relatively smooth stay under 270*.

Ball park I guess..My 69 General Data bible says intake .450 at zero lash & exhaust .458 zero lash, duration .268
