You probably know my dad then... him and my grandfather had spots there from the 60s until the mid 2000s right next to you guys. Sometimes he’d bring a German flak 38

So I check the weather forecast for Phx next weekend and of course since CK Promotions is one of the promoters for the Shootout, there is a chance of rain. CK was our track operator here for a number of years and we had some vile winters rainfall wise. We always tease him about him being Rainman.

Karl,

Sorry just backreading and jumped ahead to answer. I put some in a tea ball so that it isn't in the cup itself but I have just put it the cup. You could also put some in a coffee filter and wrap it up like a tea bag. Could also put some honey in to help the taste and honey is also good for you.

I don't have a tea ball or coffee filters...

Spark plugs changed: check
Oil changed: check.
Throttle body cleaned: check

Having a hemi and working on it in 22 degree weather while pissing off the wife: priceless
But

16 spark plugs suck to change.

Then maybe just put some in the cup, pour hot water on top. Will be a bit gritty.

But be warned of those inviting you to Tea Bag Tuesdays now....
Love it, kind of matches THONG THURSDAYS! Now to find pics that wont close the thread ………. again!

Goodafternoon.
Made it back with the new tractor bucket. So i can start on it tomorrow. Have to buy some steel to stiffen top of bucket, he wants a hitch reciever mounted there.
Unload bucket, load trash for a dump run and truck starts misfiring on at least one cylinder.
Im done for the day, will CIO tomorrow.

Not sure if that was a complete waste of the afternoon... I flushed the heater on the Journey. I think the passenger side is blowing warmer air now, but not hot. I do think drivers side improved a bit -that is hot. So I guess if the total heat coming into the passenger compartment improved, then it was worth it.
I found a few videos of replacing the heater core by cutting the tubes right by the driver feet instead of dropping the entire dash out. Then just use hose and clamps to install new. Turns a 2 day job into an hour or so. Might go that route at some point. Gonna leave it as is for the foreseeable future...

Only time i ever replace a heated core is when it leaks.
Flushing 2 ways.
Ten minute rad flush and a pump to circulate it through just the core, i mix it with hot water.
Other is a funnel jammed into heater hose and a blow gun.
Drop in a cup of water and follow with compressed air.
Reverse hoses. Catch what blows out, otherwise you will never know if core is plugged or not.
Did mine yesterday and it was not.
Being a chrysler product, the pink coolant lasts 5 years. Then it starts leaving deposits in the cooling system. Wanna see?

after much headscratching trying to figure out what caused a jeep to overheat, i replaced rad and cut old one apart.that stuff is like sand. Owner said he bought it with low mileage.guess coolant was never changed.

I take it the heater core is designed just like a mini radiator. Top and bottom 'manifold feeding through the small lines. So, it makes sense that the passenger side on the far end would clog first. I think the big problem with crap dropping out is due to wrong antifreeze being added. I Have 2 vehicles running G05 and never realized it till I had them several years. That said, my Magnum was more likely to have had wrong stuff added. '05 I had it since '08 and did not even know about the G05 till 2017 when I changed both it and the '09 Journey. The magnum has never had an issue. Not looking forward to the day it needs a heater core, cause I don't think there is any easy way to get to that one. We had the Journey from new and I don't think it ever got wrong fluid.
As for my flushing job today. I started by back flushing it with a garden hose. First stuff out was definitely dirty, but it was not plugged. The drivers side did have heat. So no doubt most of the flow was through those lines. I then used air to push back in direction of normal flow. Did that a couple times then filled with vinegar for about half an hour. Then flushed again.
I'm guessing I only opened a couple of the tracks on passenger side.

Had a customer bring me two portable generators, a very small salamander heater, a kero heater, and two Jump boxes... All very old. Jump boxes are junk, cheaper to replace them, as is the small torpedo. Usually only carb issues on small engines, so, both generators fixed. Waiting on new wick for kero heater.....Meanwhile... will watch the Redskins being trounced......

Chief are playing well. 21-0 just returned an interception back to the 5.

And Oakland ball on downs...sad!!

Bullet connector problem solved...I hope.
Buddy as an extra old wiring harness off a 67 Barracuda.
Going to cut the wire I need with connector and we'll splice it on.

Put a few turns on the torsion bars to get some clearance for the oil pan. Wasn’t sure i would like the stance, but it’s starting to grow on me.

Not a bad day today, I got the SRT battery charged up overnight and today I got the tires aired up for the cold temps and the fuel tank full...then I went on a 45 min “yee-hahaa” run around the twisty back roads and out on the highway. :)
