Stop in for a cup of coffee

Boy our noon news anchor sure do have pretty lips!

No lawyer friends, and I don't think there is enough to be gained to pay one. I am looking for a just a little more money and my car. Not enough meat on the bone dollar wise to make it worth paying a lawyer. I have reached out to a couple people that should be able to tell me if I have any ground to stand on and how to proceed. In the meantime it's on hold till I say so.
Send me a PM. There someone I can ask.

Actually its a sucky morning. Kinda like my whole last week. But I try to be positive... Well I am positive it sucks!:mob:

:soapbox:So, the insurance company is trying to steal my car. They are now saying because the bank is on title, I get no opportunity for me to buy back as salvage. I refused to give them any numbers to process the payoff till I get some answers. I have not even agreed to their payoff value if it does go that way. Not sure there is any way out of that. Bank says manager needs to deal with title and loan and he is not in today. So that is on hold.
Even if I do get it back as salvage. I found out it must be completely repaired, inspected, and title done to put it back on the road. Would be some time into warmer weather till I would get any welding and paint complete. Then have to go through process with inspection and state to put on road. I was told by people that have done it that can be 1 to 3 MONTHS. Can't just put doors on and drive it -as I would If they would cut me a check for repairs. They don't even discuss that. Its like listening to a recording. Every sentence ends with "It's totaled"
Lawyer. Whats YOUR insurance company say?

Was on my way to work when out of nowhere a tapping noise. I pulled over immediately. Coming from under valve cover. First thought was flat cam. Got her home pulled left valve cover and...

Do you have high pressure springs with a big cam? Could be you simply found an imperfection in a rocker arm when stressing beyond design.

My most important contact at this point is bank manager and he is not in today. He does have rightful control over the title. So not gonna waste a lot of other people's time till I talk to him

Dang, just got a text from my wife. A old customer of mine that works from home now had a air jack come down on his head Monday. No neurological damage but they had to remove part of his skull. Ouch! Be careful out there!

Just passing through. Keith I found myself in the same situation a few years back and I lost. I still have a bitter taste in my mouth. But I think I was stupid and desperate because it was my only vehicle and I fought until the inspection ran out. Insurance companies are crooks. I don't have any advice...I wish I did. Don't sign until you are satisfied. I was told by law they have to replace your car with a car of the same value. I do not know if this is true. But they used every little thing wrong with mine to lower the value. Good Luck

as a former insurance agent, yes, generally speaking the bolded is TRUE. HOWEVER, this can vary from state to state as far as laws go. he needs to stop talking to the other dude's insurance and talk directly to his insurance and bank. Together, or get an attorney involved. Regardless of fault, ALWAYS deal with your insurance and not the other parties. Let the two insurance companies work it out amongst themselves, don't sign a thing until you're satisfied and if you cant get either insurance company to work with you, get an attorney, and I bet you they suddenly start working with you. I don't see how or what the bank manager is going to be able to do. If that doesn't work, file a complaint with your state's COI, insurances don't like the state COIs getting involved, usually ends up costing them more than if they'd just settled in the first place

Well snow blowed and shoveled four driveways and two cars this morning.
Then went and did two hours of tennis drill.
I'm done for the day!!

Got the ram in the shop, after a bit of poking and prodding tge 4wd is working again.
Topped up the fluids and it should be good to go. Tested the block heater as its going to cool off again by the weekend.
If the guy decides not to buy it, i’m ok with that. Will patch the rust and safety it. Instead if a 900 dollar truck it will be a 3000 dollar truck.

The bank holds title, so they can actually settle without me. So the bank manager is VERY important. I will find out his position tomorrow. I am trying to get my insurance involved, but can't do that if he ain't in the office. What is COI?

Commissioner of Insurance. The person who controls who can sell insurance in your state.

is your insurance a local outfit or a national one?

Got the rocker replaced and seems to be ok. Took her for a little spin and no issues. I do believe roller rockers are in the very near future.

Success, Fury's speedo is fixed. Once I got to 35 mph it made a constant ungodly racket. Out of desperation I turned onto a long, deserted road going back to a yet-unbuilt development, and drove down it in reverse for maybe 1/3 mile at a good clip. Damn if it didn't stop the noise for the 6 miles I had to drive to the shop!

Makes me smile because it feels like something my Dad would think to do.
