Stop in for a cup of coffee

So @krazykuda you get that external windows 10 thing working for you to download Solidworks?

I haven't changed over yet...

I bought another hard drive to set up for windows 10, but am waiting to change over as I have been working with an advisor/counselor at the Jr college getting my resume rewritten and he has given me 11 leads for companies looking for CAD operators...

My youngest son and I have worked on updating my resume this week and I sent it to the advisor... He made a few minor changes and it's ready to go... I have been sending it out on some of my regular job site applications today and may start sending it to his contacts tomorrow or this weekend...

This advisor is also an AutoCAD teacher and from what people say about him he's pretty intense... I would like to take his AutoCAD 2D & 3D classes on the next rounds and then go for certification... His next 2D class is offered this summer and the 3D will be offered in the fall...

I will back up all my new data to my external hard drive before changing the hard drive on the computer and loading windows 10.... My younger son is going to walk me through the changeover as he's been doing it on some laptops that he bought and is selling... He's turning into a pretty good computer IT guy...

Body shop buddy gave me a paint shaker. Its plum wore out.
I can get a kit,but no canuck supplier. I should see if he wants a kit for his other one, at least we can split the freight.

then on to my next quest, tooling to make female inverted flare fittings.
There has to be something out there, guy at the coffee shop thinks he has, and may sell the kit to me. Curious to see whats involved.

Get a Mac or Snap-on double flare kit... They work the best... :D

The el-cheapo ones usually don't grip the tubing tight enough and the tubing slips in the teeth while you are trying to flare it.... :BangHead: :icon_fU:

I would refer this one to @toolmanmike ...

so you guys usually know about almost everything....

are there software programs available to make an old, poor quality video or pic look better on a big screen?

I have some old pics and videos from like 2005, and I guess my camera wasn't as good as I thought it was at the time.
There are no click and restore programs out there that will do it. I restore old photos in a painstaking process using 5 different software programs and can get some good results. Some take an hour and some take dozens of hours depending on condition.

Videos are nearly impossible to restore without mega-expensive remastering software that costs in the several $100k+ range. Videos are not like film that is frame-by-frame, they are continuous overlay of one image to the next making them a nightmare to restore.

I just deleted the pics and still have the videos but after seeing your post I might delete those too.

I don't need to live in the past anyway, unless it's with the cars.

No, actually threading things like master cylinders,so cutting FEMALE inverted threads. I have a mastercool hydraulic flaring kit. And, it is the bomb!

Well, we are in the red zone now with my company. In about 6 weeks or so, it will all likely implode and I will be unemployed. They put everyone on share trade blackout yesterday.

No worries though, I have bankrolled 2 years income in reserve just for this event and I will gladly take the Spring and early Summer off as I decide what to do next.

I have a few companies courting me, and one that wants me to be their Chief Operating Officer/Chief Scientific Officer if they are successful with securing funding. Plenty of spot consulting work with others if I want it.

It is far past time to turn a new page...but for now I am holding fast just to get through the Winter. No reason to sit idle during cold weather. At least in the Spring I can enjoy cruising the GTS and working on the SRT while I consider my options.

In the mean time, I will do the job and work on my images in my free time until the situation evolves to its inevitable conclusion.

Dam, you keep going to these companies that close up....

Good that you have some money put aside to get you through the break...

I think I'm addicted to this orange stuff.

It needs caffeine because I need something a lot stronger but with the awesome orange flavor.

I am totally depressing myself by looking at old pics that I have been saving for no reason.

Time sure goes by and has no mercy on a girl. If I had known what I know now about my own life, I would have done things differently.

Oddly enough, I don't really have any regrets about the stuff I did, I have more regrets about the stuff i didn't do because i was scared or just thinking small.

I should have been more daring, it's not like the things I chickened out of were life risking, and even if they were, I should have just jumped off the deep end. What's the worst that could have happened...... I'm still here

Now that I think of life in terms of "how many summers ago" It really makes me think that I should do body work, because body work is a tough gig in the winter.

The chemical stripper doesn't even work right in the cold. My stripper is all thin and runny yet it feels like I just bought it ...... time, what a *****.

Yes time goes by and it goes by fast when you are looking back at it.

Lots of choices to make all the time on where you want to go and how you are going to get there.

Sometimes the misfortunes or uncomfortable situtations are the things that steer us on to the next step. I figure life is a big book that you go through the pages in. Always seems to be a new "Chapter" just around the corner to head into.

Understanding this I always figure it is good to finish things up in the present chapter as things kind of run their course. Then a person has free hands to experience what is coming next.

Always interesting how things tend to fill in and fall into place if you give it a little time when a person is off on to the next thing whatever it may be. It is your pallet so you can make it whatever you desire as long as it is in your means of doing so.

Some folks fear change, I think it is inevitable . . grab on and go !!!
