Stop in for a cup of coffee

From a literal science perspective you'd think land travel would be quicker than airplane travel.

On land it's the circumference of the earth, by air it's the circumference of the earth plus 30000 feet so that circumference will be significantly larger and is a much longer distance to travel.
Don’t forget about the Jet stream and how it changes measured speed. Most airliners at 30,000 FT are pushing air speeds nearing supersonic speeds. But when converted to ground speed, it’s significantly slower.

Rainy,

I do not know who that person is (people), but **** them. Seriously, they can piss off. You have nothing to prove to anyone, if you can’t go, you can’t go. You owe no one an explanation. I met most of the gang last year in Carlisle, they’re a good group. And what was down right hilarious to me is that the person who gave me the most **** about not making it to Carlisle before, hasn’t ever shown up himself.

So if anyone gives you **** too much, give them the middle finger and skip over or block them.
But back to you, if you ever can go, it’s worth it at least once. It was actually one of the most memorable events in recent times for me. And I got to share it with my son. Which made it that much cooler.

Your memory is faulty and incorrect.

That is a loaded question for me to answer.
If I say no, then I'm going to get nasty grams from some who seem to be watching carefully what I do and be crying and accusing me of being elusive and all kinds of off the wall ****.

But, no.

I won't be there because that is too close to a previous engagement. I will be going to tomorrowland again. I already booked tickets last year and they are very hard tickets to get and very expensive.
Want to be elusive? Your choice.

Its an Anonymity thing. I get it.
I cant go to carlisle either. Its too dam far.

Just giving you the chance, no problem.... Bunch of good guys there for sure. You would be safe.....

Yep! 110 percent agreed. Just don’t follow Tim’s advice when it comes to sneaking in with a parking pass :poke:

Ummmm...it’s the opposite. With the jet stream pushing, their ground speed is actually faster than their air speed.

It's interesting to watch the pilots through an open cockpit door. They have to keep adjusting the nose of the airplane down or you'd fly off into space.

I dunno. I git up on dat dere plane and 5 hours later its hot and no snow.
Btw, i hate winter. I didnt know different until my first trip south.

@Mopar Tim did I tell you my son asked about you the other day? I was cleaning up the parts area and came across the valve covers you gave me. I asked him if he wanted to go back and see the cars, he said he wanted to go see the funny man:rofl:

Must have been a long time since you have been on a commercial aircraft. Cockpit doors are closed and locked tight ever since 9/11...19 years ago.

And level flight doesn’t require angling the nose down, just stay at zero elevation relative to position, gravity does the rest.

When I was younger, dad used to take me up to meet the pilots after landing, and one time after flying into St Louis, one of them actually gave me his wings. Don’t know what I ever did with them, but that was pretty cool. If I recall right, it was TWA at the time. Sadly, a bunch of psycho terrorists decided to use planes as human filled missiles and now are the doors are kept shut and they no longer let kids see the cockpits

Only partially true.

On boarding, pilots of commercial aircraft allow kids to see the cockpit and sometimes take the time to give them a little tour. Also, almost all airlines now have the pilot standing in the open door of the cockpit after landing and take the time to address each passenger as they depart.

Airlines have made extra efforts to connect the pilots with the passengers since regulations now require them to be physically separated from them in flight.

The terrorists may have changed the in-flight security rules, but they haven’t changed our humanity nor the airlines recognition of the need to have a connection of trust in our pilots.

I cant remember who, but someone told me a story about
Their boy getting a cockpit tour. Aircraft was on the tarmac.
Little boy was thrilled!
It just came to me, my buddy that flies often overseas for work. He watched as the captain took the boy for the tour.

I drive a long *** way to go, and back.....

Like a real big bro/ lil sis. Cept for a LOT of brothers. I pitty the guy that would mess with her at Carlisle.
IF there was anything left of him when Rainbo was done.... lol
Rainy only sort of understands this bunch. We talk smack and act silly...but those that I have met here I would unquestionably trust to have my back when **** gets real.

A finer group of folks than I have ever met. Take that to the bank.

Yea, I see your point. I really do want to go but tomorrowland is a higher priority this year

Tomorrowland

I have more friends on the East side of the country then I do on the west. I do not know if it is sad or what, But Dave is right, When i am back there, I am treated like a brother from another mother, with nothing but respect....as you would be, @Rainy Day Auto .

This is the only forum I'm on that has members who treat it like it's a primary source of friends and go out of their way to fly out to their "buddies" place to hug and rub.

Every other forum, most people are like, if I run across you .. COOL. if not, then oh well, I'm happy knowing of you.
