I did try starting the Duster again the other day. I knew the starter was messed up, Power lug loose. Was turning, but never started. I gave a tug on cable and a chunk of plastic ripped out. So, starter is out now...
I was trying to keep original look, but thinking I will find a mini. I didn't look too much but I saw different ones and prices all over the place. Probably need to check RockAuto. Once I get that I can check spark and fuel. I'm thinking no spark, cause I gave it a shot of fluid and it didn't even cough.

Well it was decided this morning to pause on the charger bring the demon into the other garage and get that ready for Spring. That said, lots of cleaning in garage today

Tig welding, why do i punish myself? Lol!
Biggest frustration is the cable, its uncomfortable, to twist it and have a good work position.

Morning fellers and fellet, ended up with 4 inches of snow. 20 miles south of here go 24 inches and some areas of the mountains got 40 plus. Horses were in the barn, so they were at least dry when I fed them.
Good day for coffee and oatmeal for breakfast.

Drape the torch cable over your shoulders if welding with right hand I drape it from left side and reverse if I am welding with left hand. That way the torch cable is supported by your shoulders. And does not turn into a Python wrestling match. Pro tip, when welding with right hand run foot control with left foot. Reverse when welding with other hand! If scratch starting always lay torch over on side to scratch, then stand it up once arc is established.

I think he said his was scratch or lift to start. TJ try some siliconbronze rod, takes a little less heat.

Silicone bronze in 1/16size is a life saver for all things thin black iron. @jaws is spot on it takes way less heat and is far more forgiving on the metal prep side of the equation. That stuff jumps on anything and everything!

I should have taken a pic of lunch. A pulled pork grilled cheese. De frickkin' licious!

Its like the cable wants to point upwards no matter what i do.torch twists on the end, but switch is never in a comfortable spot. I may try my pedal, its supposed to work with lift arc.

On scratch rigs I never use the rotating head, exactly as you described it messes up where the button is. Two schools of thought on button. Some guys run it with index finger like a pencil and some guys run it on inside with thumb. Me personally I despise the button start as I am typically in some tantric yoga position to weld so I will typically will not use it and go true scratch start. The foot pedal is worth the hassle dragging it around, sometimes I even had my helper run the pedal for me, or when you are in awkward spots it runs much better being under your leg. I truly believe all the years crawling around, climbing and carrying steel is what destroyed my joints. When you are welding for a living your body is just in a perpetual bind plus whatever weight you are wrestling.

Genetically enhanced mosquitoes, to eliminate dengue. The female mosquitoes die off. Anyone read the screwfly solution?
