Are you sure you didn't drop an RB oil pan on her leg? With the RB attached? Best wishes Duke.

Honestly that would have made more sense. It's only a 6-8 inch drop from the deck to the ground. And there's a step which is what she missed and went down that way.my wife only weighs 125lbs and is 5'8". Can't believe she did that much damage

Just awful, won't wish that on anyone. Were the kids home with her?? How are they doing??

Kids were in bed still at the time. Happened about 0630 EST. they're doing ok hanging out at my sister in laws playing with the cousins

Well, i hope it goes good, chris.
Recovery is going to be a long road.

Hit about 82 today. Hot waiting at the light to cross the bridge.
Open the windows for the breeze.
Sitting there looking out over the water, thinking how nice it would be out on the water.then i came to my senses, afternoons on the water will roast you.
Light turned green and i moved on.
Early morning on the water, now thats a different story.

That’s why we used to bass fish on the lakes around here exclusively at night in the heat of the Summer. Bass see on the darkest night what we see on the brightest moon lit night.

I used to catch dozens every trip, and as an added bonus nearly nobody else is out on these 500-1500 acre lakes at night. The park rangers used to meet me at the dock almost every night to see how I had done. An annual catch of 4000 fish was pretty average. Of course almost all of those were released...unless they were hooked too bad to survive. Then they were dinner!

So the hospital finally kicked me out. Wife is resting peacefully finally. I think right now the biggest issue/concern is her mental state, she's pretty upset about it as we've had to cancel the Florida trip we've been planning for 3 years plus being off work for 2 months. Gonna be a rough time ahead for her.

As for me, im pretty good at dealing with such things during, it's the aftermath when it sinks it that I'm not so good with. But it really hit hard when explaining to my 2 yr old who's begging for his mama, that she's in the hospital. He can't talk full sentences quite yet but goes "Mommy boo boo? Mommy ok? Want Mommy?" I started tearing up, he gives me hug and says "Daddy, mommy ok. Me fix Mommy" then runs to his toy room and comes back with his toy box and goes"Fix Mommy time". I admitted lost the water works.

Oh boy, it is thick and nasty outside. 87* with 70% humidity and the air is dead still. Yuck.
Yeah I hate that. I can deal with height heat and humidity but a breeze makes it a tad easier for sure

I need it piped into the garage. Too damned sticky hot out here tonight.
I've been wanting to experiment with a natural AC system. My wife has been collecting home and garden magazines as we work on our house design. One of them shows that they took a bunch of PVC pipe and made what id call an intercooler and buried it in a live spring creek. Then plumbed it into a cabin. Supposedly worked.

Be the rock!
Your kids look to you for security and comfort.
You and the little woman just need to find a way to make the best of it.
Buddy’s neighbour and his broken femur are in much worse shape.
His house is 4 feet up to the deck, bet we get asked to build a ramp shortly.
One of my good friends walked right off his roof, landed both feet on front step, out of commission for almost a year. We had just stripped it for re-sheeting and shingles. So we had to do entire thing without him. And build a ramp to boot.
Crushed both heels and one ankle.

Theres an artesian well in a contractors back yard. Water is 35 degrees year round. Im suprised he never built a cooling system from it. I would have. In a heartbeat.

Yeah essentially the concept in this one. I've got a year round, drought proof live spring creek on my property if it's a very slow shallow thing. I'd be surprised if it flowed a gallon an hour

It stays around 40 degrees year round though. And never freezes which I've found odd

Hot and sticky here too. My cousin and his wife came up from FL and are staying downtown. No one believes it's just as bad here as FL, until they come here. In the old days, the wealthy citizens would leave for the summer, to stay in their beach houses. Back then the stench in summer had to be God-awful.

We went to the Powder Magazine which is cool because the whole upper level is filled with sand. It was built in 1713, they pack a lot of history into the small space. They have muskets and rifles you can handle. Pirates were a big problem for a while.

Sorry for the confusion. 1 leg, both bones in it, one in multiple places. Then torn ankle ligaments, and busted ankle bone

Man, she really did alot of damage...

I hope she heals well and quickly... Give her lots of milk to help heal the bones...

Second. I don't know why I'm up so early though.
