Stop in for a cup of coffee

I have a decision to make today well I want to make it today. I stupidly stopped at the Honda dealership last evening. I have a 2015 Honda Foreman 500. It is an ATV. I was looking at the Pioneer 500 which is a small side by side. It would be much more usable around the property that a four wheeler. It will increase my payment by $10 and 2 years. I am thinking I should do it while I am working because I doubt I can afford one when I retire in 3 years. I don't really want to extend a payment but I already see me struggling to get my big foot up over the seat. Everything says do it but I just don't want to extend a payment. I am trying to get to debt free. But I use mine almost everyday.

I vote side by side. About 10 years ago, my grandfather and I each bought a Yamaha Grizzly 400. Nice atvs. Used the heck out of them. About a year ago, he traded one of our extra row crop tractors that was rarely used for a 2018 John Deere Gator side by side, 4x4 from a Deere Dealer. I wished we'd just gone together on a Side by Side 10 years ago, instead of each of us spending 7500 on a 4wheeler. That gator goes the same places off road that our 4wheelers typically go, there are some exceptions but usually that's in the woods. The dump bed of the gator makes it nice too. Can haul 3 bales width wise and as many as we want high. Because it's heavier and a longer wheel base, it can pull heavier hay wagons around without swaying or fighting for traction

It was. A little unorthodox and ending a day and half early due to the hurricane, gonna leave in the AM, drive up to Pensacola for the afternoon then up along the mighty Mississippi to St Louis, then Home

You're going to drive to Pepsi Cola, FL????

As long as she runs off...
And takes my wife with her! I need some peace and quiet

Note: I love my wife, but road trips with her are the worst. She hates road tripping. The kids are easier on a trip than her.

Get the side by side. You wont regret it 500 will be a little slow, but it will pull like a beast.

Good morning from the regrettably overcast Ca coast :(. Apparently that Delta II launch was the last Delta EVER. I went out to NOT see it. I could see the fog shrouded lights from the launch complex 3 miles away and the Delta brightly illuminated the fog. :( Never did see the rocket itself. Super Late Models and Sprint Cars at the track this evening :steering:. I've only been fogged out there one time that I can recall . Not the 805 induced fog, the atmospheric variety .

Quiet here.
Had a service call. Dead 95 gmc diesel. No glow plugs no fuel pump no communication with scan tool.
Tested another truck, both fuel pump relay positive circuits gone.
All fuses good.
Connect my circuit tracer and start following wire harness.
It shows circuit going off/on.
Getting close.
Directly below steering shaft is a harness, found a broken welded splice. 4 wires seperated.

Welded splice, wrapped in cloth tape. Corroded badly.

Customer is thrilled.

Good tracing TJ. What are you going to do for new junction?

Solder. Was 4 16 guage wires. I just spliced in a 14 guage and joined the 2 pairs. The connection was green powder. Owner asked if i wanted a marrette....

Finally got to the garage today. Ended up doing more cleanup than car work. Part of the cleanup was long overdue turn the crank of the spare engine and check it out in some more detail. Shot some T-9 in the spark plug holes for good measure. Looks like it may have been a '68 block, although the -6 suggested to me it was a later casting. I'll have to do some web searching.

One bit of bad news, photo of the stamped number may have revealed a crack in the head.

L is Dart.
Looking at my '68 Plymouth FSM to see what the W represented. It says for the engine number, the first two characters indicate powertrain, the next three displacement, then compression, followed by 10,000 day calender. Hmmm. Will have to look elsewhere..

The model year starts in June of the preceding year... A 12-11-68 date would be a mid-year production 69 model... In Dec of 68 they were making 69 model year cars....

Here's a thread I did on how to ID a small block engine:
