Looked at other threads, this wasn't addressed. I got my 340 out of the car, will be storing it in a unheated garage on a stand. Cars normally stored in a heated garage so antifreeze is just protected to a little under 0F. It will get much colder that that here. Sounds like best way to drain fluid is punch out a freeze plug. Do I need to knock out them all, or is one on each side sufficient?

There are 2 drain plugs just above the pan rail on both sides of the block. That will drain everything coolant wise and no need to knock out freeze plugs.

Wow, 20 minutes, answered and saved me messing with perfectly good plugs. Thanks guys!

Might have to poke through the crud behind the plug to get fluid to run out.

Same here! At first, I thought something was wrong. Was happy to find out it was just crud :)

If you doubt the A?F mix, then put the block plugs back in and pour a bit of antifreeze into the t'stat hole and try to get some to flow into each head to go down into each side. You won't get all of that coolant out, and it will freeze. Whether that small amount will crack anything is debatable, but why take a chance....
