Here we are, the second weekend in July and it's time for another Street Machine Weekend. This event has been going on for some 40 years now, getting bigger every year.
Three days of automotive related events and activities, starting with the Friday night cruise, a 'rolling car show' through the downtown area from 7 to 10 pm.
The real action happens outside the controlled area where thousands of people line the streets to watch the classic cars and trucks roll by, encouraging drivers to 'light em up'. Saturday features a 100 ft race event where drivers try to get the fastest time, along with several show and shine events put on by various clubs.
Sunday is the big show and shine in the heart of downtown.

Plenty of hot rods have already started rolling in to town yesterday, with well over 1000 machines of all makes and models expected.
Restaurants and bars are setting up patio seating areas along the popular routes and plenty of eye candy everywhere already.
Going to be a great time in town this weekend for every gearhead.

Lethbridge Alberta Canada. Southern Alberta's biggest gathering or close to it.

71 or 72 GTO Judge convertible, very nice looking car.

A couple pictures I took last night, I was driving so not able to take nearly as many as I could have.

See what I can find out and about today.

Stopped by one of the 'small unpromoted' shows this afternoon. I think it's organized by a local C10 club, but free and open to everyone. Took a few pictures, estimate about 200 vehicles present.

Cool footage, Randy!
Good to see you out cruising late last night.
I'll be out again tonight, I'll call you and hopefully we'll meet up.
Keep the pictures coming!

Sounds good, I'll likely be out there after 6 or so. I was thinking of going to the 100 ft races, but I had to fix Pat's car this afternoon, by the time I got it done and took a ride over there it was looking like it was nearly done.

Thank-you for sharing the pictures! I'd have to tear my wife away from the Bronco. The Scout is cool! I used to drive the bosses 2wd version to deliver 20 50lb. blocks of salt. Every bump you hit felt like the steering went real light or away. I'd try to come home with the 72 Dart.

Oddly enough that 72 Dart is for sale, claims to have a 340 and an 8 3/4, but I think it's priced a little high at $28,500. Nice car, but not that nice.

I’m glad you guys got out and about. Stace and I cruised a bit on Friday. We stopped by Rob’s for a visit and then went home to prepare for this. We are up top today but moving below the damn this afternoon. I wouldn’t mind seeing the show and shine, but this is pretty hard to beat!
