Strut rod new style bushing install question

Which is the correct way for installing these. left or right pic?
Pull them through to the groove?

Not much rubber there for a strut rod bushing.

The first photo. Used the same on my 63 Valiant. Grease them up and pop them in.It ain't easy....They may fight ya.Once the taper is in and you torque them down the taper end will balloon a bit.

Those are what the originals looked like and are the correct type. Are they better or worse than the aftermarket MOOG? They are what I choose.
