Well I had a pretty good weekend, Finally fired up the 408 for the first time.
All I can really say is WOW !!! What a feeling to hear it come alive.

Fired right up as soon as I touched the key.
Ran it up to 2k and adjusted the spark, let it run for 25 minutes (65 lbs oil pressure) then idled it down to 900 and let it lope. The BIGS Holley 750 DP that Jesse Bigs built is absolutely awesome, nice crisp snappy response. I'm sure there will be some fine adjustments when set into the cuda but for the most part Jesse's setup is spot on.

I had photo's but something funky happened to my camera (sorry):angry7:

Yesterday I popped the plug out ,drained the Rotella/Comp cam additive and topped her back off with some Joe Gibbs.
Pulled the valve springs and added the innersprings, reset the valve lash and shrink wrapped it up for it's trip home to FL.

Thanks FABO for keeping the fire burning.

Roger

Sooooo - do ya' think it'll make 300 ponies at the flywheel? :)

Congrats. That first time you fire a new engine is almost as good as the first cry of a newborn baby.

WOW !!!

Was the the Rotella/Comp cam additive something you put in the engine..or when you installed the cam..I ask this because the PO installed my cam..

Thanks
If I close my eyes, I can hear it..
