Hey guys well the other day when i was moving around my cuda, i got frustrated, the car runs like crap, it idles crappy, aw, well i was gonna swap a 360 into it, i was gonna build it first, but hell maybe i should just swap it in place of the pile 318. The 360 needs a timming chain, and id probably throw a 4bbl on her, i think it has one, but id swap it anyways. The distributer will swap from my 318 to the 360 right. How do i remove a distributor w/o screwing something up and install it in the 360. After thinking about it maybe the 318 has a cam or something it runs like **** but once it moves its...alright. or just a pile. also the oil filter i believe is leaking when I start it up, oil drips from around that area. is it hard to swap the adaptor for the oil filter over to the 360. also the 904 is pretty shot, i can just swap the bell housing from that 904 to another and run that, it seems pretty shot, I know the 318 is pretty tight fit on the drivers side, how will the manifolds work in that case, i dont wanna put on super restrictive manifolds so it kills the engine, could i self port the manifolds or at least try to as far as a dremil would go. But on the other hand if i decide to build the 360 which will be soon not to far down the road. I will have to repull it, i guess i should just get the drivers fender first before thinking of driving it. :) getting ahead of myself

The dist and trans will swap from your 318 to your 360. Bellhousing on a 904 is not removable, that would be a C-4 ford trans that has a removable bellhousing. Manifolds will work unless you want more flow than try to find some 340 manifolds or headers. Oli filter adapter will also swap, you probobly need the bolt & gasket kit for it, which any mopar parts dealer will sell you. Good Luck!!

you WILL need different motor mounts and a different 360 balanced flex plate (like from B&M) since 360s are externally balanced. 340/360s share different motor mounts than 318s. Yank the 904 out when you pull the 318. I myself wouldn't put a motor than i haven't gone through in my car..Idk the story on it, but i would atleast pull it apart, check bearings and clearances before going through the trouble of sticking it in there and there being a chance of an issue and having to yank it back out. Don't get impatient and try and 'get the 360 in' as fast as you can and skip the important steps of checking things out.

Just my .02cents

the left hand motor mount can be used with a spacer to take up the gap from the narover mounting ears on a 360 block i dont know if its something to recomend but i have been driving around with it like that for 3 years now ;) right hand mount should be the same for both 318 and 360
