swapping 318 to LA 360

Hi posting for a buddy.Wer'e not sure if you can exchange the mounts of the 318 onto the 360 for a straight swap. Think i read somewhere that one of the mounts has to be changed. Can anyone clear this up for us please

If memory serves, the driver side mount is different on the 360 (the passenger side is interchangeable).

Yes, the driver's side mounting bracket is different from a 273/318 to a 340/360. What vehicle are you swapping the 360 into?

Some people use washer, sleeve or a big nut to take up the spacing difference between the 318 mount and 340-360 mounting ear. Pretty hokey in my opinion, but, it works. I make these up from 318 mounts. 360 mount on left, 318 mount on right.

Another point is some of the mounts don't have the holes in the right spots. If you look at the pic, the 318 mount on the right has the rear lug, side with one bolt hole, in the lower position and the 360 required it in the upper position.

If you mount has the 4 holes, you can use the mount with a spacer. Check it against you block.
