Hello folks, hopefully someone can help me out.
I am swapping a 8.75 in my '75 Scamp.
I found out The axle centerline to yoke/universal centerline is 12.35" for the 8-3/4" axle.
What is the axle centerline to yoke/universal centerline measurement for a 7.25?
I need to know how much I need to shorten my drive shaft.
Thanks for your help!

Just put the slip yoke in and leave an inch of play before it bottoms out and measure center of universal to center of universal and that is how long the drive shaft needs to be.

I'll be keeping an eye on this one-lemme know what you come up with. I'll be doing the same thing sometime soon...soon being a subjective term.

Just to follow up -
After installing the 8.75, I installed the tranny yoke (bottom it out)
and with the car on all for wheels on the ground, I measured center of yoke ears to center of yoke ears and came up with 52.75".
Subtract 1" = 51.75. The current driveshaft is 54".
So....I had the driveshaft shortened by 2.25"

(pretty much the exact difference between axle centerline to yoke/universal centerline for the 8.75, 12.35" and axle centerline to yoke/universal centerline for the 7.25, 10.09) Difference is 2.26"

Just an FYI for anyone doing this swap.
