tach signal

i just installed an autometer tach adapter that hooks to coil and turns it into a tach signal. now my tach is doing some funky stuff, is there anyway to measure signal with an ohm meter ?
im useing an equess tach but i assume that shouldnt matter.

With what, MSD ignition? What is the part no. of this adapter? Link?

You mean an Equus tach? what model? Link?

One set of destructions I found for Equus indicated they could also be triggered inductively off the coil wire / plug wire

found out i got sold wrong part, the one i have isn't designed for what im useing it for.
