I got tired of having a blank dash bezel in all my past barracudas that I had. So, when I purchased my notch, I also bought a tach from the seller. He said it was correct for 1968 but I am not sure. It was hooked up in the dash with what looks like a lamp cord. The cord was ran to the motor and nothing was wired from there. Can someone let me know how to hook this up and what to use for wire? I figure the lamp cord probably isn't a good idea. Does the short copper plated stud go to the coil(-) side? Where does the wire from the silver stud go to. I attached some photos. Any help would be much appreciated ....thanks

The silver stud is 12 volt + ign-on feed (It should be a dark blue #18 wire coming from fuse panel)
The brass stud is your tach feed to coil - and it should be a grey wire with tracer also #18 gauge
Above is for 69 Dodge but should be the same for Plymouth

Anyone know on my tachometer?? the silver post wire runs to +12 volts ignition. Can I run the wire to the fuse labeled heater and just put the wire under the fuse? A guy at work was telling me to do that with my tach hook up. I don't want a puff of smoke when I turn it on...thanks...

That's pretty crude way of doing it. I would take a loock at the back side of the fuse block and see if there are any empty connectors that are powered only when the key is on. Then crimp a spade connector to the wire and install it there.

If there isn't there are male spade connectors that are for connecting wires to the front side of the fuse panel, I would track one of those down and use it. Make sure you connecto the side of the fuse that doesn't have power if the fuse is removed. You want that wiring to be protected by the fuse.

Put a voltmeter to the fuse box connector. Turn the key on and see which one has power. Hook spade to that.

hahaha.. me neither 4spdragtop, but I'm trying to figure it out. I have two empty connectors, so I will give that a try first. Also, I learned from MoparLvr that the red/white wire goes to the radio and I can splice in to that if needed. I sent my dash off to Vae Restorations and I hope to get it back soon and put everything together...Thanks for all the help. It is appreciated....

Looks like you have a couple of options on the back side. Which ever one is only powered when the key is on is the one to use.
