Taillight Fitment

Been busy working on the 71 and getting the rear body panel and taillights fitting. My question is this common for the taillight seals to pooch out like this. The taillights were out of the car when we got it, so i don't have anything to compare it to how they fit before. Any advice would be helpful.

Those gaskets and tail lights never were a good fit on the 70 and 71 Dusters. I fought them many times and just made sure I had a good seal so no water entered around them.
