Hi there,
Can some one tell me if on a TCI full manual reverse pattern valve body part # 121700
the kick down lever should be fitted?
Came out of old trans and no instructions so not to sure and cant find much info on the web.
Thanks in advance.

With a full manual valve body, the kickdown is eliminated, you shift into and out of every gear, hence the name full manual.

Yes I understand that but the valve body itself still has the provision for the supposed kick down lever to be put back on. I have never used a TCI valve body before. Plenty times the Cope one.

Yes it is there, part of the valve body it's self but is not used.

I have a rmvb that has the provision for the throttle pressure. It is spring loaded so yes it needs to run kd linkage or it needs to be tied to the rear. I checked mine. It’s a Turbo Action. It needs the throttle pressure hooked up or tied back. Shifts w/o is not bad, quick and crisp. But with it tied back it will rattle ur teeth. U may find using a cable or linkage will work great if this is a street car. Kim

have you tried calling tci? They probably have the correct answer

go to summit race and search the part number. There are instruction there that say no throttle control linkage is needed. Might want to read those instruction before trying to install.

If that KD link is not in place, fluid will pour out on the ground. With a MRVB pretend it's not there

Taken from TCI 121700 INSTRUCTIONS:

Step 14 Remove throttle linkage from carburetor down
to transmission. The TCIÒ Full Manual Valve Body will
only operate manually. It does not have any automatic
features.

no welding required
