TF 727 Input Shaft Seal Rings on the Way to Failure

Just went through a name brand 727 (that had several issues) and thought you all might enjoy seeing these. It would have been a few more hours of use and this 727B would have lost all forward gears. It is pathetic that this was assembled without inspecting the ring grooves in the input shaft. Cast iron rings or steel rings did not fit yet these glass-filled Teflon rings were forced in.

The transmission did not have many miles on it. See if you can see the issue

looks like the rings on the left are grooved !! Using worn out parts. Rings can’t seal off
