tf 904 linkage do i miss a part ? 66 barracuda

Today i tryed to connect my shifter (original ) to my tranny and was wondering why there was a slot instead of a hole. And of course , it did not work, so i guess i looses something back in the day when i took everything apart. Could anyone tell me what is wron or what i do missing ?

Yes there is a piece missing which slides on the bottom of the shaft and has a fixed nut in it
