The Dragster Insider column over on www.NHRA.com for the past two weeks has been a 2-part article on the artistic automotive work of Tom West, one of the best illustrators and photographers in the business. Here's just a few of the x-ray illustrations he did to chronicle some of the very famous cars from the glory days of drag racing:

Of particular interest is the correctly-illustrated front wheel offset on Garlit's "Swamp Rat ***".

Check out the great 2-part article over on the www.NHRA.com website to see these and more beautiful "X-ray" illustrations in a larger format.

Thanks for sharing. I have always loved those images. tmm

Thanks for sharing and I too loved these classic illustrations. Seems to me they qualify as some of the "unique and unusual" stuff in American automotive and racing history.

Good stuff!
