Hello All,

I have been reading lots, and made a few posts but wanted to formally introduce myself...

My name is Joe, I have a 67 Dart GT that I have owned since I was 15. It is a 273/2bbl, floor/auto car. I bought it with a tired 360 and a 727 that only had 1st gear. It had moderate rust to the quarters, and putty everywhere. The 500 I paid still made it a steal. I rebuild the 727, drove it... Pulled the 360 for a warmed-over 340, crashed it... Fixed it... Drove it... Then finally pulled the car apart in 2002 for some fresh paint... I went back to school, changed jobs, left the country, bought a house, got married... Finally a few months ago I walked out into the garage and said WTF? I am tired of looking at a project, I want my car back. So here we go. I am totally pumped to be getting back into the car scene, and really enjoying turning wrenches on the old car (the Wife is pretty excited too). The plan is to put a 273/4bbl into it but leave the rest alone. I am really excited to have found this website and have already learned by just reading other threads. You guys rock. Here are a few pics, the front susp is actually out of the car now, I just ordered a rebuild kit and am doing the manual steering swap. I will keep you posted...

Welcome Joeboy, glad to see another project coming aboard. But I have two questions: Why is your garage so clean, and secondly, why a 273? I'm not knocking the 273, just finishing one up myself, but I don't think I'd do another, there's more constraints there (parts availability like pistons, pre-'66 manifolds, prices).

Welcome! Enjoy the site and good luck with your Dart project.

Welcome Joe Glad you jump in and introduced your self and your dart.
We have some of the best of the best tec's here and some great folk to, So jump on in and enjoy.

Joe, it's great to have you, your Dart and your excitement here ... it's contagious! We all keep each other inspired on a daily basis. Welcome aboard!

Thanks all, I will keep you posted and get some more pics as they come in the restoration section.

Clifftt- I gotta say, when a garage is a small as mine, and you have the speed & ability that I do... TO LOSE THINGS. You gotta keep it clean or nothing gets done, except cursing and digging through cans of bolts.

As for the 273... I was lucky enough to pick up a 67 dodge 273/4bbl with about 60K on the clock from a good friend that was losing his storage space, so it is a good opportunity to go a bit retro, If the cost is gonna be to high when I get into it, I don't have my heart set on it. Projects usually seem to grow into something larger than life once you jump in sometimes, that is fine with me.

mattsmopars- LONG LIVE THE 67!!
