This old picture came up on Facebook today of when my son Matt was prepping the Duster he now races. It was plum crazy purple when my ex wife raced it over 33 years ago. I painted with black epoxy paint and he named it Whiskey Runner. Lol. He will be 33 years old next month.

Did Matt race in high school

We didn’t have a per say high school class where you could race before you were 16 but he started pretty early. I bought a very nice 1972 duster when he was 15 that he was supposed to make payments on. I ended up keeping then selling it and I gave him the 1970 duster above. He made his first passes in it before he was born while my ex was racing it. He started very young but I can’t remember how young.

I like it epoxy black. lol

I had three different colors over the years I raced my 91 Daytona. When I bought it she was red and white and I raced it like that for at least five years. Then Matt and a friend designed a wrap for it (blue and white). Then I stripped it off and I painted it Hot Rod Black.
