I purchased and rebuilt a superquad 9800 for my RB project. I found a master rebuild kit that came with a thin paper 4 hole manifold gasket. I also purchased a .320 thick base plate gasket. I have an Edelbrock 440 performer with the spreadbore opening. My question is do I use the thick baseplate gasket only, or do I use the thin paper on top of it as well? The baseplate gasket fits around the permiter of the spreadbore opening perfectly, and the paper gasket aligns with the carb bores perfectly.
I am concerned the vacuum will pull the paper gasket into the runners as there is no support.
Do I need a baseplate gasket with 4 holes instead?
I think I have answered my own question, but input from others is always welcome.
gasket 1 is what I have, (it does have the corner inserts.
gasket 2 is probably what I need.

Thanks in advance!

Never use a 4 hole gasket....with a 2 hole intake. It is not the vacuum you need to worry about, it is a backfire.......

Make sure the gasket covers the passages in the carb base.
